Privacy Policy

What we store on your device

BoomClock uses your browser's local storage to remember your choices between visits. This data lives in your browser, on your device. It is not transmitted to any BoomClock server, because BoomClock does not have one: the site is a set of static files.

Specifically, we store:

• boomclock_watchlist — the timers you have starred
• boomclock_user_timers — timers you created yourself
• boomclock_regions — the regions you have chosen to see timers for
• boomclock_hidden_cats — categories you have hidden

You can delete all of it at any time by clearing site data for boomclock.com in your browser settings. There is no "delete my account" request to send us, because there is no account. Clearing your browser is the whole process, and it is irreversible: we hold no copy to restore from.

What we don't do

• We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, emails, or passwords.
• We do not run analytics or visitor tracking of our own.
• We do not have a server-side database of users, and we do not log your activity.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we do not collect it.

If you email us a timer suggestion using the "Suggest to BoomClock" form, that opens your own email client and sends a message to us directly. We then have whatever you chose to put in that email, including your email address. We use it to consider your suggestion and nothing else.

Fonts and other third parties

BoomClock loads its typefaces (Bangers and Roboto Mono) from Google Fonts. To deliver those fonts, your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address and standard request information. We do not control that, and we do not receive anything from it. If this concerns you, Google's handling of Fonts requests is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Advertising

When ads are shown on BoomClock, they are served by Google AdSense. This is what pays for the site. It also means Google and its partners are involved in your visit, and you should know how.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to BoomClock and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google My Ad Center.
• You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can decline. Declining does not lock you out of anything on BoomClock: every timer works the same either way.

Your rights

Data protection law in the EEA, the UK, and some other places gives you rights to access, correct, export, and delete personal data held about you. In BoomClock's case the honest answer is that we hold none, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. The data that exists is in your browser and under your control.

Rights relating to data held by Google as an advertising provider must be exercised with Google, through the links in the advertising section above.

Children

BoomClock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Meaningful changes, such as adding analytics or a new third party, will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
